Silver Projects

This is a training project for Omani Silversmiths based on strong demand for high-quality, authentic Omani silver jewellery and weaponry presently being met through antique, imported, and expatriate production.

Oman’s traditional silver industry has been under increasing pressure from changing requirements of the local market, and an influx of expatriate silversmiths. Many Omani silversmiths are no longer practicing their craft, and are not passing skills on to younger generations.

This project will focus on the establishment of training systems, the creation of systems and equipment to improve quality and efficiency, and product development.
